Why is the isolation transformer safe?

Time:2024-06-13 Views:0

There are two main factors that determine the safety characteristics of the isolation transformer.

1. The secondary line of the isolation transformer is not connected to the ground.

First of all, when the power supply system in China provides low voltage to the user, the three-phase four-wire system is generally used. Neutral grounding, commonly known as a point. That is, the line to the user's home, one of which is the fire line, the other is the zero line. It is the same status as the earth, and when the person standing on the ground touches the fire line or the conductor connected with the fire line, the current enters the human body from the fire line to the earth, and forms a circuit through the ground line, causing electric shock. The secondary line of the isolation transformer is not connected to the earth, and there is no potential difference between any two lines and the earth. So under normal circumstances, when the user touches any line, there will be no electric shock.

2, the isolation transformer input and output are completely separated, and there is an insulator in the middle.

The input and output ends of the isolation transformer are independent and have no common lines. At the same time, when the manufacturer makes the isolation transformer, it will apply insulating paint on the outside of the winding, and the wire used is often called "enameled wire", and the enameled wire can effectively realize the electrical isolation between the input and output terminals, so as to safely and effectively avoid the risk of accidental contact with the live body and cause the user to be electrocuted.

But in fact, this "security" is not absolute, there are two points that users need to pay special attention to.

1, the user can not contact the secondary ends of the isolation transformer at the same time, otherwise there will be a risk of electric shock.

2, the secondary ends of the isolation transformer can not be grounded, otherwise there will be a risk of electric shock.
